About PileDesk

PileDesk is help desk software for SMEs, built in Ireland. It turns email, a help portal, and phone requests into tracked tickets, at one flat price per workspace.

Why PileDesk exists

Most small teams start support in a shared mailbox. It works right up until two people reply to the same person, a request scrolls out of sight, and nobody can say how long anything actually takes. The obvious fix is a help desk, and that’s where it usually stalls.

The established platforms are genuinely powerful, and priced for organisations with a procurement process. Per-agent pricing means the bill grows every time you hire. Rolling one out well takes an implementation project. For a five-person team that just needs the queue solved this week, that’s an enormous amount of machinery to buy into.

PileDesk was started by someone who spent years doing IT support and watched small teams pay enterprise prices for tools they used a fraction of. It’s the help desk we wished those teams had had: something you set up yourself, before lunch, and can afford indefinitely.

What we optimise for

Flat pricing, never per seat

One price for the whole workspace, however many people you add. Per-agent pricing punishes you for involving the right colleague, which is the opposite of what a help desk should encourage.

Set up by you, in minutes

No sales call, no demo wall, no implementation partner. You connect a mailbox, pick a template, and you're taking real tickets. If that takes longer than about five minutes, something has gone wrong.

Honest about the limits

PileDesk covers the request-management core. It has no CMDB, no asset inventory, and no large automation builder. Where a bigger platform is the better answer, our comparison pages say so plainly.

Common questions

What is PileDesk?+

PileDesk is help desk software for small and medium-sized businesses. It turns email, a public help portal, and manually logged requests into tracked tickets with one clear owner, internal notes, SLA targets, a knowledge base, and response-time reporting. It's most often used as an IT help desk, and the same workspace runs HR and customer support queues too.

Who makes PileDesk?+

It's built and run in Ireland by a small independent team, started by someone who spent years working in IT support. It isn't venture-funded and isn't part of a larger software suite.

Why was PileDesk built?+

Because small teams kept paying enterprise prices for help desk tools they used a tenth of, and spending weeks in implementation to get there. The goal was a service desk you could set up yourself before lunch and afford indefinitely.

How is PileDesk different from other help desk software?+

Three things: pricing is flat per workspace rather than per agent, setup is self-serve with no sales call, and the scope is deliberately the request-management core rather than a full ITSM platform. That last one is a trade-off, not a boast. If you need asset management or deep workflow automation, a bigger platform is the right choice.

Where is PileDesk based?+

Ireland. Support is by email at support@piledesk.com, answered by a person rather than a bot.

Anything else? support@piledesk.com. A real person replies.
